Hi, One thing is that in 2.5.23 I marked a lot of old drivers as "outdated" and they are default disabled.
This includes the spca50x driver, which drives the Agfa CL18. I looked at the Ubuntu build and it currently disables it. You would need to build your own libgphoto2 to enable it currently. However, for webcam usage it should actually just work with its Linux kernel driver not even needing libgphoto2. The driver is called gspca* and should autoload on plugin. I am not sure if Ubuntu builds it though, on openSUSE it loads automatically.
