Hi, The --upload-meta-data is currently only used for MTP devices that support that, e.g. MTP music players and Android phones.
gphoto2 --storage-info will show for the Nikon things like: [Storage 0] label= [Slot 1] basedir=/store_00010001 access=2 Read-only with delete type=4 Removable RAM fstype=4 Camera layout (DCIM) totalcapacity=58785792 KB free=43196224 KB freeimages=9642 "Read-only with delete" is the storage access mode.
