I m trying a GoPro Hero 8 and although its in the supported cameras list I
still get the same error message:

Sorry, your camera does not support generic capture
ERROR: Could not capture image.
ERROR: Could not capture.
*** Error (-6: 'Unsupported operation') ***

Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem.

gphoto2 as follows:

--capture-image
Please make sure there is sufficient quoting around the arguments.
Autodetect returns this for the gopro:

I couldnt find libxml2 so I'll download it and try again. Do I need the
libxml2-dev also?
