We have report of success on these cameras:

- Sony Alpha A6400 aka ILCE-6400
- Sony Alpha A6600 aka ILCE-6600
- Sony Alpha 7RM4 aka ILCE-7RM4

We do not have a user report for the A1.

libgphoto2 2.5.27 is the current release.

libgphoto2 is an opensource camera access library that was implemented
using mostly public available specs to implement digital camera support.

The library supports multiple camera drivers, the primary one is the PTP driver,
which also covers Sony vendor specific operations to capture images and
liveviews,
and configuration control.

The ISO 15740 PTP standard is the primary reference guide for the PTP
driver. For vendor specific commands we rely e.g. on freely available resources
like Nikons SDK or other documents.

For less documented cameras we use bits of reverse engineering, largely
USB traffic sniffing.

If Sony could supply us with the Sony vendor specific PTP protocol
specifications,
this would greatly help us increase the quality of our software for Sony
cameras.

Ciao, Marcus
