Dear Marcus,
My apologies for rushing into replying to you before checking up everything
from my end.
I've managed to find the way to define the USB connection as PC Control
and, to my fortune, I can detect the camera:
pi@octopi:~ $ gphoto2 --auto-detect
Model Port
----------------------------------------------------------
USB PTP Class Camera usb:001,014
