Hey,
sorry for coming back so late on this question. Here is the output line
for the canon from lsusb:
> Bus 003 Device 004: ID 04a9:3303 Canon, Inc. Canon Digital Camera

Hey folks,
I just got a Canon EOS R5 C and tested it with a manually compiled
libgphoto2 2.5.29/gphoto2 2.5.28 on Ubuntu 22.04. It works out of the box a
an USB PTP class camera but I thought for full support it might be helpful
to post the dump of the device information as suggested in
http://gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php.
As said, the things I see as important seem to work well (shutterspeed, iso,
aperture as well as capture/capture and download). But maybe that helps for
official support. (I assume it is quite similar to the R5 anyway in the
photo mode. Don't care for libgphoto2 in video mode but if you want me to
try things I'm happy to do.)
Good to hear, occasionaly the aperture/shutterspeed reporting needs to be
slightly adjusted on newer EOS generations (as it is coming from a unstructured
binary blob
with offsets changing between generations).
Ciao, Marcus
