Just an update, time has been a premium the last couple of days. I tried the podcast http://feeds.feedburner.com/meetthegimp and experienced the same issue as you the video played from the video menu, but the it did not play from the music podcast menu. Interestingly enough the audio only came out of one of the stereo channels on my iPod which may point to the fact that the video is not encoded correctly.
