A proxy should only accept(and forward) or > reject the request, but should not just ignore it silently, I think. On the other hand, the Proxy (Tor) is only needed to circumvent "the firewall", right? So, in my opinion, setting the proxy in every app to Tor and then configuring the Tor proxy to directly connect for "allowed" hosts and indirectly connect for "blocked" hosts, so one has the maximum speed with the maximum reachability. Of course, this is in part by wanting to avoid having to implement yet another feature, and of course there are other reasons one would like to use Tor, even if not blocked by "the firewall", but I think that it would be an option to look at before implementing something like this in gPodder. Also, I think that it would also benefit other applications, like "wget" if you could set up a list of "working" hosts and default to proxying through Tor. The feature is in the bug tracker, and so on the tentative feature wishlist, so it should get implemented sometime in the future, although it's not a big priority, and the parts of my free time that are devoted to gPodder are also limited. The option of maybe configuring the Tor proxy was also a hint that I might give you if you wanted to have this feature right away without having to wait. In the meantime, you should be able to use it without problems, except that for non-blocked hosts, you have a speed penalty. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.gpodder.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes. _______________________________________________ gPodder-Bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/gpodder-bugs
