Sometimes Gpodder can freeze for a brief (or sometimes long) period of time.
This usually happens when you synchronize podcasts with your iPod and more
severely when you import an opml file.
Steps to reproduce:
Import an opml file with many podcasts.
Mine had 25 podcasts and gpodder froze for more than a minute.
By looking at the download folder I could realize that it was downloading cover
art.
