Summary: New version update should retain previous install
settings
Product: gPodder
Version: 0.14.0
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: feature request
Priority: low
Component: Application
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
I just updated to 0.14.0. I had previously set my download folder to the
external memory card. However, the update ignored this (and other settings
such as autodownload) and ended up trying to save to internal memory. This
immediately maxed out my memory and nothing much would run. I managed to SSH
in and copy the internal folder out to external memory card, erase the internal
gpodder download folder and reset the path to external memory (maybe not in
that order).
Fortunately I'd previously backed up the feeds to an opml file. If I hadn't
done that I think I would also have lost all of the RSS addresses.
The update doesn't give any warning, you just get the usual Nokia flashing
exclamation mark notification that an update is available, so if you blindly
trust and obey, you can end up messing up your gpodder feeds.
Thanks.
