The download rates of gPodder are quite acceptable. The speed is very high
whenever downloading from a fast server, however some slow servers have given
my installation of gPodder some trouble.
Some downloads do not complete because the file is big, and the server is
un-explainably slow. If I go to the website and manually download I get the
same result, but If I use a multi-threaded download manager like "Flashget"
(for Windoze) or "Down Them All" (Fire Fox plug in) the download completes in
no time.
My request is that gPodder use multi-threading while downloading, or give the
user the option to use an external multi-threading down-loader such as Axel
(Linux command line).
The particular podcast feed that I have the most trouble with is:

I am going to try an alternate feed for the podcast. I can let you know how it
goes if you are intertested. The alt feed is:
