Sometimes I would like to try adding a feature or fix a bug myself, but most of
what I'm interested in requires changing the gpodder.glade file. Since I'm not
really familiar with Glade and gPodder yet, editing this file by hand is too
difficult to start with. Using the Glade GUI for editing this file hasn't been
supported for quite a while.
Opening the file with Glade and saving it directly messes up a few functions in
the program, but it doesn't seem too bad. Only Glade 3.5 (available e.g. in
Debian experimental, http://packages.debian.org/experimental/glade) seems to be
able to open and save the file without crashing.
I think someone with good knowledge of both gPodder and Glade should fix the
gpodder.glade file to support the Glade GUI again and later it should be made a
requirement to have it work with Glade. That would make it easier for new
people like me to join the development of gPodder.
