If the option is not set then the episode will just be marked as played in gPodder. (This was already occurring but later in the sync process, which caused it not to work correctly in some cases) The second commit adds a checkbox to the iPod configuration pane to enable/disable ipod_delete_played_from_db. This should meet the requirements of this bug. I think it is useful to be able to prune played episodes. Nothing will be deleted unless the user specifically enables ipod_delete_played_from_db, and even then it will only be deleted if listened to completely on an ipod and not marked with a rating. I have tested the new functionality on an iPod Nano 4G.
