I went into the 'Advanced' tab and entered my credentials into the 'Username:' and 'Password:' fields. I clicked 'Close'. Then, clicked on 'Check for Updates', which brought back up the 'New episodes available' dialog with the newest episode already checked off." So yes, I made sure I entered my credentials after adding the podcast but before downloading episodes. WITH credentials in place, I was ONLY able to download the first fresh new episode successfully, and all other attempts to download produced that error every time. You should try to use a password protected feed to test this out.
