Summary: Too long keys in database scripts
           Product: my.gPodder.org
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: high
         Component: Generic
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
            Blocks: 617

When trying to set up the database on my local MySQL server (5.1.37) the
database complains about keys beeing to long.

For unique fields such as podcast.url an index is automatically created. This
index must not be longer than 1000 bytes in the default storage engine
(MyISAM?). InnoDB allows only 767 bytes.

http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=4541 seems to describe this problem.

Please find a way to solve this restriction (maybe by using another storage
engine).

If we can't find a way, we will have to ensure uniqueness in the application.
