Summary: Cannot sync to MTP device on Ubuntu Karmic
Product: gPodder
Version: 2.0
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: low
Component: Application
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Since upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic gPodder (versions 2.0.1 and 0.16.1, tried
both) cannot send podcast tracks to my MTP device, which is a Creative ZEN 8GB
and worked flawlessly since then. Although the UI does not notify me of any
errors the tracks are not stored on the device.
I started gPodder with --verbose to track down the problem, and find the
following output for each failed track:
[ 10.533] (MTPDevice) sending /home/oliver/gpodder-downloads/Der satirische
Wochenrückblick von Peter Zudeick im WDR 5-Radio zum
Mitnehmen/wdr5_wochenrueck_20091114_0900.mp3 (WDR 5 Wochenrückblick: Der
Satirische Wochenrückblick von Peter Zudeick (14.11.2009)).
[ 10.646] (MTPDevice) unable to add episode WDR 5 Wochenrückblick: Der
Satirische Wochenrückblick von Peter Zudeick (14.11.2009)
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/gpodder/sync.py", line 936, in add_track
metadata, 0, callback=self.__callback)
TypeError: send_track_from_file() got multiple values for keyword argument

[ 10.646] (MTPDevice) Marking as played on transfer:

Other applications using libmtp, like Rhythmbox, still work OK with my device.
The libmtp version installed calls itself "0.3.7-3ubuntu3", package name is
"libmtp8". "python-pymtp" is installed in version "0.0.4-1.1".
