Summary: Functionality under Windows 2000
Product: gPodder
Version: 2.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: low
Component: Application
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
"Severity Major" -- except this relates to a Windows OS. :)
gPodder, version 2.1 is advertised as being 'for Windows 2000/XP/Vista'
Has anyone got version 2.1 to work with Win'2k?
For me, I get an error during launch:
TITLE: 'Pythonw.exe - Entry Point Not Found'
TEXT: 'The procedure entry point freeaddrinfo could not be located in the
dynamic link library WS2_32.DLL. Illegal entry in ws2_32.dll'
Running the program off the same USB stick on a Win'XP system is OK. I like it
much better than Doppler (especially the 'portable application' feature) -- and
would be a convert, except for this issue.
I've tried on two Win'2k systems. Both give the same error; and a file compare
of their ws2_32.dll files comes up with no differences.
I tried running a clean copy of version 2.1 off the hard drive on a Win'2k
system -- same problem.
Could it be problem with my firewall (AVG)? (I say that because under Win'XP I
had AVG related problems -- AVG took a long time to decide to ask if gPodder
should be granted internet access.)
Could it be that there is no functionality under Win'2k?
