Created an attachment (id=452)

the pretty patch that cut hard into the code

my feature request is to make gpodder use notification (detached from sys tray)
i.e. have a "normal" notification whatever the state of the window and whatever
the use of the systray. alway the same thing, please.

after being hurt by bug #721 with a popup coming up in the middle of my screen,
i became annoyed by the pop-up of gpodder.

even now, with 2.3, it still pop up in the middle the screen if gpodder is
visible but not the active window.

the settings for notification is always 'minimized'. I can never be 'always'
unless you modify the pref with the advanced settings. so what is the use of it
?

by the way, I noticed that all the apps I use that are in the sys tray (gnome),
[exaile, transmission], the notification they do are NOT attached to the sys
tray. so I wonder why gpodder do it ? because someone say so in bug #722 ?

my feature request is to always do notification request (detached) i.e. have a
"normal" notification.

so I made for myself a patch that I don't expect to see you merge like that
because it is rather radical.

but look at that code I remove and the impressive number of "if". I wonder if
anybody is able to predict its behavior from the code ???
