Well, "deleting episodes removes downloaded files" to me implies that the episodes is deleted (also from the list), and as a result, the downloaded file is also deleted from the machine (which is more "destructive" than just removing the listing, in my opinion. You can use the "View" menu to show deleted episodes even after deleting them.
