Summary: Synchronization broken for 5G Nano
Product: gPodder
Version: 2.7
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: low
Component: Application
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
I have a brand-new 16GB 5G Nano (the kind with a camera) and I'm having trouble
sync'ing it with gPodder. I initialized it by copying a song and a podcast onto
it using iTunes on Windows (actually a Windows guest on a Ubuntu 10.4
virtualbox host). I have SysInfo, SysInfoExtended, HashInfo files in
/media/IPOD/iPod_Control/Device/.
I have gPodder configured with:
Device type: iPod
Mountpoint: /media/IPOD
After syncing an episode: Do nothing
Remove played episodes from device: Yes
Only sync unplayed episodes: Yes
The initial sync works fine and all the episodes appear on my device as
expected. However, after updating the playlists, re'syncing, and ejecting the
iPod, all Podcasts have disappeared from the device. (See gpodder-resync.log)
This state of affairs will continue no matter how many times I resync.
If I use the "Select and remove episodes from device" option and delete all the
episodes, then do a resync, the current episodes will appear on the device, but
there will be "zombie" podcasts on the device. These are episodes that have
previously been deleted from the device, but still appear in the playlist.
Clicking on them has no effect, the device just returns to the playlist menu.
(See gpodder-delete-all.log and gpodder-resync-after-delete.log) The episodes
do not appear in the Podcasts playlist in gtkpod, but they do appear in the
main Library. Deleting them in gtkpod does not work.
