             Bug #: 1318
Summary: Error 301 when trying to sync with online subscription
                    (and I know why!)
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: gPodder
           Version: 2.14
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: low
         Component: Application
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

So here I am rocking out with gPodder 2.14, enjoying the new tray icon
behaviour, (which increases productivity by 56.3% according to many independent
aggregated statistics), when I decide to go ahead and try using the online
service again.

I am on my primary computer, openSUSE 11.4, KDE, which has all of my
subscriptions and episode statuses. So I go to Preferences > gpodder.net > and
click "Replace list on server with local subscriptions"

Then I am immediately greeted with an Error 301. I tried this on a newly
installed gPodder 2.14 on a different machine running Linux Mint 9, GNOME. It
works without giving me an error message.

That's when it hit me! I have been *upgrading* gPodder on my primary computer,
and so it uses all of my settings under gpodder.conf. It turns out that
mygpo_server was *still* set to my.gpodder.org, when on a newly installed
setup, this defaults to gpodder.net.

Maybe there should be a function on new versions of gPodder that automatically
read mygpo_server and make sure it is correct?
