Bug #: 1497
Summary: Foldername incorrect when switching between
gpodder.net accounts containing identical
subscriptions
Classification: Unclassified
Product: gPodder
Version: 2.20
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: low
Component: Application
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
In brief: When switching between two gpodder.net accounts that both contain
identical subscriptions to the same podcast, and the local subscription title
is equal to the title listed on the gpodder.net subscriptions, the path to the
folder containing the episodes ends up pointing to an incorrect location, so
the media player fails to find the file as it's passed an incorrect path.
Step-by-step for replication:
I have two gpodder.net accounts, both of which contain a subscription to the
same podcast.
the title of the podcast is:
At this stage, the folder containing the episodes is
"~/gpodder-downloads/http___www.theskepticsguide.org_feed_rss.aspx_feed=SGU"
The foldername element in the channels table in the sqlite DB shows this path
correctly.
I go to Podcasts>Preferences>gpodder.net and change the username/password from
Account A to Account B.
The folder gets changed from the above to
"~/gpodder-downloads/http___www.theskepticsguide.org_feed_rss.aspx_feed=SGU
(2)" (it adds a two in brackets)
The foldername element in the channels table in the sqlite DB correctly
reflects the new path.
However, if I now click play on an episode, the folder gets changed back to
"~/gpodder-downloads/http___www.theskepticsguide.org_feed_rss.aspx_feed=SGU"
(removing the two in brackets), but the foldername element in the channels
table in the sqlite DB still shows the path with the (2) at the end, and
consequently the media player gets passed the path with the (2) at the end and
fails to open it as that location doesn't exist.
This mismatch occurs again when switching back to the original account.
Oddly, if I change the title of the subscription to "SGU" in gpodder this
problem does not occur, it seems it only happens with the title listed in the
local application is equal to the title listed on the gpodder.net accounts.
