Bug #: 1531
Summary: SSL certificate is valid on Android phone
Classification: Unclassified
Product: gpodder.net
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Android
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: high
Component: Website
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
The SSL certificate is not valid on my Android phone. It seems that my phone
does not have the GoDaddy cert installed. This may be the same as bug #1472.
However, this bug is a major problem to web service usage from Android. The web
service uses HTTP Basic authentication, which does not encrypt the password, so
I refuse to implement the gpodder.net webservice over HTTP in my app. The only
workaround to figure out how to manually accept the certificate in the Java
code, which is difficult, error prone, and may break in the future.
