             Bug #: 1585
Summary: Huge number of merge episode actions on finding new
                    episodes
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: gPodder
           Version: 3.1.0
          Platform: N9
        OS/Version: MeeGo Harmattan
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: low
         Component: Application
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

I have version 3.1.0 installed on 2 Win7 PCs and a N9 and synchronization is
active across the devices.

Yesterday with the N9 I went to find new episodes and the 'merging episode
actions' went nuts - eventually it went up to 12000 or so before it finished.
Initially I thought gPodder was stuck in a loop so I stopped it, uninstalled,
restarted, reinstalled (although AppsforMeego installed 3.03 instead of 3.10)
but the same happened with 3.03 and I stopped it after 500. I didn't delete the
gpodder directory BTW as there are some archived episodes I don't want to lose.

Eventually I restarted, reinstalled 3.10 from Ovi store and waited for 5-10
mins or so to see if it would run it's course, which it did. Today it went up
to 1300 'merge episode actions' on updating the episode list which doesn't take
as long but I've never seen gPodder go above 125 or so before this all started.

This doesn't stop the program working as such but it seriously affects the
usability if you have to wait for the phone to get through that many merging
actions before you can do anything. Probably by design updating individual
podcasts one by one doesn't seem to trigger this. I have no idea what the
'merging episode action' is supposed to do but it's being a serious pain at the
moment

This only happens on the N9, no big delays occur with the PC version with
exactly the same podcast list. I think the workaround for now is going to be
update the PC version to see what's new and then go through the individual ones
on the N9.....
