Thomas Perl <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|CONFIRMED |IN_PROGRESS Summary|System tray extension |Gtk StatusIcon extension | |for Gnome 3 integration --- Comment #13 from Thomas Perl <[email protected]> 2012-07-31 21:32:05 BST --- So, to summarize the current status of this as I see it: - Not relevant for Ubuntu Unity, as we have the AppIndicator extension there, and statusicon is deprecated there (in favor of AppIndicator) - Relevant for Gnome 3 (only the statusicon part, not the minimize-to-tray part) - The "start minimized" is solved as bug 1633 already, and should be independent of the systray icon I also heard of some user that the AppIndicator is indeed working on Gnome 3 (at least on ubuntu), but it behaves differently. I'll have a look on how Gnome 3 works at the moment, and maybe come up with a quick fix gtk.StatusIcon extension. To be honest, I'd really appreciate if some of the Gnome 3 users step up and implement this as a really simple and clean extension script (you can use the AppIndicator extension as starting point), as I personally don't use Gnome 3, and at the moment mostly care about good Unity integration, as it's not as much a moving target as Gnome is (guys, give Unity a try if you haven't recently - it's not that bad!). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.gpodder.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes. _______________________________________________ gPodder-Bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/gpodder-bugs
