Bug #: 1698
Summary: Side loading episodes does not work.
Classification: Unclassified
Product: gPodder
Version: 2.20
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: feature request
Priority: low
Component: Application
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
There no longer appears to be a way to side-load an episode and convince
gPodder that it already downloaded the file.
Put the file in the correct Podcast's folder, gPodder ignores it and starts
downloading the file anew - then, once the download completes, it replaces my
copy with the newly downloaded one.
If I name the file with .partial, gPodder will wipe the file and start the
download from the start.
If I start a download with gPodder, Pause it, replace the .partial with the
full download, gPodder will wipe the file and start the download from the
start.
1) Before downloading, check if the file exists and if as many details as you
can compare from the XML are the same, then just use it!
2) Before resuming a download, check to see if a partial exists, and continue
from there.
3) Checksums in feeds would be nice...
