I must say Thomas has made a great jobs on this feature. I send him an
expiremental patch, he spent time transforming it in a professional
feature. He specialy did a good job keeping it simple and nice looking,
what I have not been able to do.

Jérôme Chabod has been busy improving and adding to the tray icon
patch. I've again reviewed the patch and simplified some things which I
think should keep gPodder simple and usable while providing advanced
functionality for power users. The attached patch should be applied to
r508 of gPodder SVN and should add the tray icon and notifications.
Please test this patch and report any problems and feedback here on the
mailing list.
