A good idea although a little harder.  The easiest way would probably
involve having a dialogue box in the settings of each podcast (the area
where you can select whether that podcast gets synced up or if you have to
do it manually) where you would set the genre.  Whereas setting the album
can be a lot more automated.  Still, I do like your idea.

I guess we need to submit a bug report?  Or how are features properly
suggested with gPodder?
