No, you just run python from gdb:
$ gdb python
(gdb) run
Python 3.3.4 (default, Mar 16 2014, 22:38:15)
[GCC 4.8.2] on linux
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> from graph_tool.all import *
When it segfaults you run:
(gdb) bt
Which gives you the backtrace.
