If I understand correctly the conversation here..
Essentially I think it's a common situation (as with Mapsforge).
Graphs (or maps) do not contain all the original OSM information for
each element.
The keep only what they need for their purpose, perform routing (or map
rendering).
That's why Peter's advice is appropriate for these cases,
any on top extra information retrieval could be handled via an external
DB structure.
