Hi,
take a chart with a logarithmic scale with major grid at 1 and 10 and
100 ...
Enable minor grid. You get the following ticks:
2 minor intervals: tick at 5.5
3 minor intervals: ticks at 4 and 7
5 minor intervals: ticks at 2.8 and 4.6 and 6.4 and 8.2
If I use a logarithmic scale in MuPad, I get the following ticks:
2 minor intervals: tick at 5
3 minor intervals: ticks at 3 1/3 and 6 2/3
5 minor intervals: ticks at 2 and 4 and 6 and 8
The way MuPad does it, seems more useful to me. But before I write an
issue I like to know, whether you can test other programs and see how
they do it. Excel does not allow this settings, but always uses 9 minor
intervals with minor ticks at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
kind regards
Regina
