Hi all, I just heard about a great new tool called jmxtrans. http://jmxtrans.googlecode.com/
It does JMX queries and can send the resulting data directly to Graphite, and all it requires is a simple JSON config file. This will be very useful to anyone who wants to record JVM metrics in Graphite. Also, a new release is on the way, I'm triaging bugs for it right now. Happy Holidays -Chris
