This is a message from statsd, not graphite. Statsd has its own format,
described on that project's site.
If you're sending simple counters, the format is key:value|c, e.g.
foo.bar.yak:1|c
If you're sending timing information, the format is key:value|ms, e.g.
foo.bar.yak:1000|ms
