Michael Leinartas proposed the following answer:
whisper-resize.py will also migrate your existing data and will save the
original file with a '.bak' extension in case you want to revert the
change. You can verify the data after a migration with whisper-info.py
which will show the data from the past 24 hours by default (use --from
and --to with unix epoch times for other date ranges).
