How can one escape whisper DB entries that might contain periods? For example, in your 'Getting Your Data Into Graphite, Step 2 - Configure your Data Retention' section you provide 'servers.HOSTNAME.METRIC' as an example naming scheme. What if the hostname is expected to include periods?
