On the MAX_UPDATES_PER_SECOND topic, how did you come to 5000 max writes as being your magic number? Also, have you tried enabling WHISPER_FLUSH = True? You are saying you are using FLOW_CONTROL on the client side, you mean the carbon cache process? With your current setup, how long do the metrics take to appear?
