Below is the screen-shot of my graph:

The data is collected every 10 minutes.

My question is why do I see a horizontal line at intervals 8:33-8:34 and
8:43-8:44 and so on..

The data coming in is from an ever incrementing counter and I want to
find the slope between each data point (to find the change in number of
requests).
