OK, sorry for the confusion,
I am facing a problem trying to get different retention through the graphite
path. i have couple of metrics along the path and want to have different
retention for them, here is my example
infra.srv1.app1.123-metric1.wsp
infra.srv2.app2.456-metric1.wsp
what i am trying to do is to have a specific retention for both of these
metrics (60s:7d). the requirements are:
1. Have the same retention for xxx-metric1 considering the random prefix number
before the metrics names
2. to be specific about the metric1 names and location as there might be
different metrics in the same folder that needs different retention
(infra.srv1.app1.789-metric2.wsp as an example) 30s:30d
3. along the path infra.srv1.app1.123-metric1.wsp for example, there
will be metrics under infra.srv1.srv1_up_time.wsp that needs to have
retention at 60s:90d
so the main goal is to be retention specific about the metrics names and
where they resides along the path and to give each pattern different
retention based on the requrements
I hope I had explained it well. Please let me know if any additional
information is required.
