This works for TclTk modules--and I think we fixed it throughout the TclTk gui. However, these are all written as bash shell scripts.
The plan is to move the gui to wxPython, which makes Python a dependency of GRASS. If Python is installed, bash scripts can be re-written in Python and should work on all platforms natively.
