Hi, I have backported a couple of portability fixes, most from Glynn, to the 6.3.0 release branch (yes, -j HEAD works nice!).
I suggest to get out 6.3.0RC2 tomorrow. We are at the European GIS Sprint, Merano, Italy http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/European_GIS_Code_Sprint which is a good occasion to get such things done.
