#483: "return to previous zoom" brakes "zoom to selected map"

1. on the terminal set the region to a subset of the raster map you will
load in step 3
2. start wxGUI
3. add a raster map
4. "zoom to selected map"
5. query the map several times
6. "return to previous zoom" - the view changes to the region from step 1
7. query the map several times again
8. try "zoom to selected map" - the view fails to change
FWIW, while I was fiddling with querying and zooming the whole gui crashed
once, leaving a trace in dmesg:
