An attempt to solve this ticket: updated r.out.gdal in trunk r36750 and
develbranch_6 r36751
The manual has been updated considerably, trying to find a compromise
between useful information and a lengthy manual. Amongst other additions,
there is a new paragraph on GeoTIFF caveats in NOTES, I hope that helps a
bit.
