On the next days I will finish to do sampling for a land-cover classification training and testing. I do not had time yet to try and learn R for image classification purposes, so I'll use Idrisi for the classification, using neuronal networks and machine learning decision trees. I can give a try on i.pr with k-nearest neighbor and classification trees.
