Hi, I have added new flag to v.select in trunk which avoids skipping features without category (r44036). It can be useful eg. when selecting area features from vector map A based on boundaries of areas from vector map B. Currently you need to extract boundaries from vector map B and assign them the categories. With -c flag this step can be avoided. Please let me know if you think that it would be reasonable to backport to GRASS 6.
