The v.parallel with applied patch from the comment to the ticket #1231
fails if the change of direction from the current interval to the next one
is small. The processing of the attached vector v36.txt (the standard
ASCII vector) [[BR]]
v.parallel -b input=v36 layer=-1 output=v37 distance=8.0 side=both
--overwrite [[BR]]
returns error message [[BR]]
Vect_get_point_in_poly(): Unable to find point in polygon [[BR]]
ERROR: Vect_get_point_in_poly() failed.
Using distance=10 it works.
