I'd leave them as-is, although if ctrl-w closed map display windows too it
makes it a bit risky that you close the wrong one? I guess there's the
"Are you sure?" backup for that though.
My main point is "W" to close Windows (or document tabs, as may be the
case in various other software); "Q" to Quit the entire program.
