excellent...! with that fixed, how close do you think it is to migrating
r.viewshed out of addons and into the main source tree? or is there still
work to do?
if it's ready, does it mean r.los is now redundant, or does r.los have
some purpose/feature worth saving?

I think I meant visible/hidden (see r25102), but in hindsight I suspect
that you can completely disregard comment:1.
