I WAS using it a lot, but use 6.4 and 7 more now, and we are using it in our modeling work. But this is because it was supposed to be the roadmap to GRASS 6.4.2 and we wanted to make sure that all of our modeling worked with the final GRASS 6.x series. 6.5 has diverged from this to some extent, though most of its code is in 6.4.2. So it won't be a problem to me or my lab if it goes away.
