Hi,
source:grass/trunk/gui/icons/grass.desktop is the file that controls the
desktop icon and menu entry on Linux systems using
GNOME/KDE/freedesktop.org.
it has a line in it to define the tooltip:
{{{
Encoding=UTF-8
Comment=Geographic Information System
}}}
ref.: http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-
spec-latest.html#recognized-keys
it would be nice if the 2-letter country code translations could be added
to that file, e.g.
{{{
Comment[de]=Geographisches Informationssystem
Comment[fr]=Système d'Information Géographique
}}}
feel free to donate them to this ticket if you can't commit directly.
results will be shared with QGIS.
I'll probably need help ensuring the encoding is really UTF-8
before porting away from trunk, as I'm pretty hopeless with that stuff.
