GRASS should not be automatically adding the desktop (ie ~/Desktop) to GRASS_ADDON_PATH. In the Mac startup, it should only be
~/Library/GRASS/6.4/Modules/bin /Library/GRASS/6.4/Modules/bin (substitute GRASS version), plus anything the user set for GRASS_ADDON_PATH in .bash_profile or other shell init.
